/ September 30, 2011I lost 12 lbs. I thought it was a mistake. I dropped 3 lbs in 1 day. I am thrilled. The weigh loss took its time showing on the scale.

/ September 30, 2011WOW!!! You and I just talked about how the scale doesn’t quite match up with what is going on in your body. I am thrilled for you! These are truly incredible losses! I am going to start posting my weight. I was 110 for a long time, then dropped to 108.5 and stayed there for a while and then today – 108.00!!! I have lost a solid 6 pounds and am so much happier! Even stressful days aren’t so bad – when you’re happy with yourself.
Keep these stories coming!

You see less of me everyday as I continue to loose weight. Thanks for the great meals.

/ October 19, 2011I have an incredible shrinking man in my household also! Mike has lost about 8 pounds using your can-can list and sticking as much as possible to the 5 grams of carbs 3 x a day rule! Thanks, Joann, for an easy diet plan that WORKS!

That book {Fat to Skinny} was a big help. Understanding how the weight is reduced through the metabolism and cell explanation went a long way to making the decision to “stop the madness” and now I wish to be called the ” Shrinking soldier”.
I threw away all the cereal, milk, soda and bread. Started Friday and went from 206 to 202.
No bloated gut and I notice the difference already.
I like some of the ideas for snacks in the book: Pickle, cheese and slice of turkey lunch meat all wrapped up. 0 sugar and 0 carbs. So the cells have to look elsewhere to get the sugar it needs to fuel the body; the cells now go to the stored fat for the fuel. Amazing.
Got to get weened off the soda but am drinking diet soda which really tastes the same and has 0 carbs and 0 sugar.
You still have to watch the calories because even though the pickle wrap has no carbs it does defintely have calories so you can’t eat them all day or your defeating the purpose.
Fruit i stay away from because it has natural sugar.
20 carbs or less a day is the goal.

/ January 15, 2012I just wanted to add that I was having lunch with my friend yesterday and she was talking about how she tries to limit her carbs and she has always tried to eat healthy and work out. I gave her your website to look up and told her you were going to be adding different carb lite options. She made a shrimp scampi dish last night and she used Zucchini instead of the pasta. The website looks awesome!! I have been recommending it to everyone!

/ February 15, 2012I posted this comment on facebook earlier today and I was asked to post it here, which I am very happy to do. I’ve pasted it below:
dear mr & mrs shrinking man: thank you for your website and all of your recipes. they are helping me to shed pounds and stay away from carb riddled foods! 46 down, 84 more to go! thanks again
I had lap band surgery in oct 2010 and I lost 30 pounds, but I did not continue to follow the program. well now i am getting regular adjustments and along with low carb eating i have lost 46 pounds. the lap band keeps me from overeating and the low carb helps me not feel hungry. it’s been kind of slow going, but it took me years to get this big. my doctor is happy, and I’m happy. seeing shrinking man’s photos and reading your blog, trying the recipes, etc., has really help keep me motivated. Please keep up the good work and thanks.

/ February 15, 2012Dear Pat,
Thank you for sharing your story with all of us. I recently read an article in the NY Times on lap band surgery which told of the difficulties some patients experience adhering to the new eating program. I am delighted that the low carb options are working with your program, that you don’t have the hunger that some patients experience, and that your doctor is happy with your progress! It is heartwarming when someone tells you that you made a difference in their life. I will “keep up the good work” and you do the same. Your story and your success keep us motivated. Many thanks Pat.
