2 Weight Loss Authors Put Their Own Programs to the BIG TEST – Do They Work?

September 3, 2013

Here we are – two over-fed weight loss authors and our spouses: myself (author of Carb Light Living’s™ Top 5 Low Carb Recipes) and Steve Kalt (author of Positively Thin – available soon on Amazon).

When you write about food, you talk about food – and lament about food – especially when too much of it turns to FAT!  We spent the long Labor Day Weekend together – it was great but it was time to get back on our own programs. Steve and I use different strategies – I count carbs and Steve counts calories.  They both work; however, we prefer our own programs. The four of us decided to hold each other accountable and slim down for an upcoming wedding in October.

We had a combined total of 35 pounds of FAT to shed! We gave ourselves 6 weeks and a goal date of October 15th.

Fire Island 9-1-13

Joann’s Goal: 5 pounds (108 on 9-3-13)

Gary’s Goal:  10 pounds (181 on 9-3-13)

Iris’s Goal:  10 pounds (133 on 9-3-13)

Steve’s Goal:   10 pounds (189 on 9-3-13)

Follow our progress online each day to see how we do – simply subscribe to the website if you’re not already a subscriber.  OR…join the party and lose along with us – you have everything to gain – you’ll see what we eat, our calorie counts and our carb counts. I will share my recipes for our weight loss with you too.

If you prefer to count carbs, go to the Carb Light Living™ Program Link and build your own program in 2 easy steps.

  1. Find your ideal daily calorie intake total for weight loss.
  2. Find your desired CARB LEVEL intake using the Carb Light Living™ Carb Chart, which is based on your calorie target, as determined in Step 1. You have 3 options to choose from – or 3 rates of weight loss with each calorie total. (see above program link for more details).

If you prefer to count calories, Steve’s approach is to start with cutting out 2nd portions, breads, and desserts.  He will share lots of strategies in his book – available this week.  I read it – very well written with practical tips that you can use daily.

NOTE:  The referenced Carb Light Living™ Program is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice, it is provided as an original and unique model for losing weight enjoying the foods you love. You assume full responsibility for how you choose to use this information.

As always, seek the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare provider before starting any new weight loss program.
