The “Shrinking Man” Reaches First Milestone WEEKS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!

September 20,  2011

Gary reached his FIRST milestone this morning, weighing in at 190.6 pounds! This is ironic because last night he went to the Phillies Game with his friend and colleague, Ed Meakim, who was excited because it was Hatfield Franks Dollar Dog Night.  I suggested to Gary that he get Campo’s Vegan Cheesesteak with “the works” – fried onions, peppers, mushrooms, and Provolone Cheese.  I told him to make sure they remove the doughy middle before filling it and they did, finding it amusing.

Next time you’re  in Philly or at Citizens Bank, try Campo’s Vegan Cheesesteak with “the works.”  Even a hard core meat eater would like it!  They use the “the deliciously crunchy-yet-airy rolls from South Philadelphia’s famous Sarcone’s Bakery.” I also suggested to Gary NOT TO EAT anything more after the cheesesteak.  He didn’t.  He obligingly (?) ate one of the Lance toasty peanut butter cracker packs that  Ed brought for both of them.  No harm done, since he still lost a pound – and it’s ok to splurge – especially when  you’re at a Phillies game!

Here’s the stats – we’re on the move downward. People have been asking me for a before picture of shrinking man. I am going to let him chose it.  Stay tuned.

I am happy that you posted Gary’s daily weight loss. It is sometimes frustrating when you go up. It has been happening to me. One day I lose 3 and then up again and then down again. This must be normal. I am happy to say I have lost 8 lbs. I don’t know when I started but it has been less than 1 week.

Go Gary go!!!. Well done!! You are probably sick and tired of sugestions and tips but I just HAVE to tell you. Reminder that overnight you are fasting and your sugar levels spike in the morning. Gary, have some protein (anything- boiled or poached eggs, Avocado on toast or rice cakes, small thin steak with tomato, even cereal like Special K Advantage has a high protein content) so it knocks down the sugar and you will feel “fuller” for longer. Alternate- don’t have the same thing every day, if you have eggs for lunch have avocado or meat at dinner. Swap around with carbs as well- Noodles, veg. When you have achieved your desired weight, eat “normally”, things you like or used to eat except, eat 50% less and be vigilant about the sugar and salt content, not just the fat content. One glass of water for every glass of wine or beer, this will fill you up, ou may enjoy your booze better because you are not drinking out of “thirst”. Fill up on cooked veg or salad even potato.Sometimes “Lite” foods contain more salt or sugar than the “whole” food, may only be lite because it has less fat, this way you will keep your weight off for good.
